Columbia Gorge ESD's Superintendent
Dana is a lifelong educator. She has worked as a classroom teacher, university professor, consultant, and district office administrator. She also served as principal at a Title 1 elementary school in Bend, Oregon. Her extended family roots run deep in the Gorge. Her husband’s family has lived in Odell for over 50 years. When not serving her community, she loves to hike, Nordic ski, work in the yard, and play cribbage with her husband and enjoy family dinners with her adult children.
The superintendent, in collaboration with the ESD board and other staff, is responsible for implementing the delivery of the programs and services provided to local districts by the ESD. In the delivery of these programs and services, the ESD strives to build relationships and partnerships based on mutual trust and respect; to provide high quality leadership for the improvement of student learning in the region; to provide high quality regional services which are effective, efficient and equitable to our users; and, to maximize our use of innovation as we design and deliver services to our component school districts.
